Everest. But help is on hand. Tourism for All is a charity that works to overcome barriers that prevent participation in tourism, literally for everyone, including carers of young people, disabled people, older people and those who would like a break with disabled or older relatives. They also champion... [Read the full story]

Can This Be True- Eight Glasses Of Water A Day Is Bad For You?

Can This Be True- Eight Glasses Of Water A Day Is Bad For You?

July 13, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Experts now warn that drinking eight glasses of water a day is not good for you at all. In fact it could make you ill. This latest claim goes against all of the advice that we have been fed by the government over recent decades, passed around to us via the NHS and various leading doctors, nutritionists and other bods who like to tell us what to do. Writing in the British Medical Journal, DR Margaret McCartney claims that the advice to quaff 1.2 litres, or two and a half pints or eight glasses of H20 is utter nonsense, with no scientific evidence at all to back up the theory that drinking this amount... [Read the full story]

Pay Cut Risk For Redundant Over-50s

Pay Cut Risk For Redundant Over-50s

June 20, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Three out of four people who get another job have to take a pay cut.  But half of redundant over-50s haven’t got another job yet and those that have are the most likely to have  taken a pay cut in order to have won the post, research from Key Retirement Solutions shows. The nationwide study shows more than three out of four (77%) over-50s made redundant in the past three years took a pay cut to get back into full-time employment with 45% saying they had to take a “considerably lower” salary. Around 51% have to take a completely different role or work in a new sector to get back into employment. Younger... [Read the full story]
